Video Services Improvement Project The Office of Enterprise Technology (OET) initiated a project to examine their video services. The intent of the project is to work with existing video users to identify and implement services that are required to provide successful quality video services. Terry Kolomeychuk, COMET- METNET Coordinator, and Roger Root of the Minnesota Department of Human Services were invited by OET to represent video user input for this project. ONLINE LEARNING Breeze Services Downtime The following is a review of upcoming service outages that will affect access to Breeze.
Tuesday, May 16, 6 - 8 PM
Breeze 5.1 Service Pack 2 will be installed on the Breeze 5.1 server. METNET user content will also be copied to a dedicated Breeze server for METNET users. Access to all Breeze content, including Presentations and Meetings, will be unavailable during this time.
Saturday, May 20, 6 AM - 4 PM Work will be done in preparation for the cutover to a new network. Sunday, May 21, 10 AM - 1 PM
Several METNET Services will be moved to a new network. Services unavailable during this time include: - Breeze Support Web Site (breeze.metnet.edu)

VIDEO Chalk Talk: Interpreting for Dr. Ruth On April 19th the eighth in a series of video conferences for interpreters was broadcast from St Paul College. This series entitled, "Chalk Talks" occurs quarterly and provides training for interpreters around the state. These video conferences are provided by the MN Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and generally include ten to twelve sites located in various regions. Streaming Video Study Streaming video is being studied. Several companies are marketing Lecture Capture stations. These systems capture voice, video, and projected visual materials and create web-based output. Captured lectures are available for review through a web page. Some systems also stream live video. Systems under investigation are the
Accordent Capture Station and the
Apreso Classroom. April 2006 Network Traffic There were 166 meetings conducted via ITV in the month of April. Just think of how much money was saved by all of the people attending at remote sites with the current price of gas.
